Troops march outside Buckingham Palace in Coronation procession …
Preparations are being finalised for the much-anticipated Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey following the death of his mum and our former monarch Queen Elizabeth II Troops have been marching across Westminster Bridge in London as they rehearse for King Charles III's much-anticipated Coronation this weekend. The monarch is due to be crowned in Westminster Abbey on Saturday (May 6) with millions of people across the country set to attend parties celebrating the national event, or just watching it on TV.
The King will be joined by his wife Camilla, who will become Queen Consort, with his eldest son and heir the Prince of Wales, along with his wife Kate, in close attendance.
Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is also expected to jet back to the UK for the ceremony, but his wife Meghan Markle will remain with their two young children at the family's home in California.
Charles acceded to the throne in September last year upon the death of his beloved mum, Queen Elizabeth II, with the rehearsal this morning (May 3) ironing out any potential problems as he travels from Buckingham Palace to the cathedral and back.
