An Il-22М air-borne command post shot down in the Voronezh region
The Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation have lost an Il-22?11 air-borne command post. A video of the fall of a burning aircraft was published on social media. Enemy aviation suffered a loss in the sky over the Voronezh region.
Russian propagandist Ilya Tumanov posted information about the tail number of the lost aircraft - RA-75917. This number belongs to an Il-22?11 air-borne command post aircraft, which is essentially an air command post of the enemy army.
It is known that in recent years the Russian Federation has been modernizing these aircraft. Il-22?11 is an important link in the building of a system of a unified information field at the group of troops level. The cause of the crash is unknown for certain. On the territory of the Voronezh region there is an internal Russian confrontation between the rebel mercenaries of the PMC Wagner and the military units of the Russian Armed Forces controlled by Moscow.
Earlier, the PMC Wagner mercenaries had already shot down two Mi-8MTPR EW helicopters and one Mi-35 attack helicopter. There is video evidence of the launches of anti-aircraft missiles against the ??-52 helicopter in Voronezh.
In addition to Strela-10 SAM, PMC Wagner has in service Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun systems.
