Gas supply to parts of Kherson Oblast affected by Kakhovka power plant explosion will resume on 26 June

From 26 June, gas supply will be gradually resumed in areas affected by the Russian forces blowing up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) and the resulting flood. Quote from Prokudin: "We are gradually resuming [the supply of water, gas, and electricity - ed.] to buildings which have been affected by the flood. Though water level has dropped sufficiently to allow for essential works to take place, the effects of the flooding are still evident." Details: Prokudin also said that gas service workers are currently repairing equipment and testing gas supply networks.

They expect to resume the supply of gas to some households on 26 June.

The fact that many residents of Kherson Oblast are absent from their homes, and so cannot turn on or check their [gas-powered] appliances, and the fact that the ground for the most part is still wet, are the main obstacles to the rapid resumption of gas supply. Background: In the city of Kherson and in its oblast, 182 transformer substations were flooded and damaged.

A gradual decrease in the water level is recorded in Kherson - energy companies have started restoration work where possible.
