Only 10% of Ukrainians ready to give up some territories for peace
Ukrainians are not ready to give up their land to achieve peace: only 10% of respondents believe that to achieve peace and preserve independence, it is possible to give up some territories. Source: survey results from Kyiv International Institute of Sociology held from 26 May to 5 June Quote from Kyiv International Institute of Sociology: "The absolute majority of respondents, 84%, continue to agree that no territorial concessions are permissible, even if the war lasts longer and there are other threats.
Only 10% believe some territories can be abandoned to achieve peace and preserve independence."
Details: Sociologists note territorial concessions have been raised regularly since May 2022, and there have been practically no significant changes in public sentiment over the past year.
Advertisement:"Each time, the absolute majority of respondents (82-87%) opposed territorial concessions, and an absolute minority (8-10%) were ready for it," the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology stressed. Sociologists note that most of the population in all regions of Ukraine stands against territorial concessions. Among residents of Ukraine's east, 75% oppose concessions (and only 13% are ready for concessions), and among residents of the South, 86% reject this idea (only 8% are ready to give up territories).
In addition, most citizens oppose any concessions, regardless of what language they mainly communicate in at home.
So, among Ukrainian-speaking citizens, 85% stand against concessions (with 10 percent saying they're ready for concessions), and out of Russian-speaking citizens, 80% are not ready for any concessions, with 13 percent ready to give up territories.

Sociologists noted that the sample included only 19 respondents (out of 1,029) who continue to identify themselves as Russians. It is reported that this number is not enough for statistically reliable calculations.
However, it is significant that among them, only two respondents accept certain concessions, and 15, on the contrary, reject such an idea.
The study was conducted from 26 May to 5 June.
1029 respondents living in all regions of Ukraine (except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) were interviewed by telephone with the use of a random sample of mobile numbers. The survey was conducted with adults (aged 18 years and older) citizens of Ukraine who, at the time of the survey, lived on the territory of Ukraine (within the limits controlled by the Ukrainian authorities until 24 February 2022). The sample did not include residents of territories that were temporarily not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities until 24 February 2022 (Crimea, Sevastopol, certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts), and the survey was not conducted with citizens who went abroad after 24 February 2022.
Formally, under normal circumstances, the margin error of such a sample (with a probability of 0.95 and taking into account the design effect of 1.1) did not exceed 3.4% for indicators close to 50%; 3.0% for indicators close to 25%; 2.1% for indicators close to 10%, and 1.5% for indicators close to 5%. A certain systematic deviation is added to the specified formal error in war conditions. But sociologists believe that the results obtained are highly representative, allowing us to analyse the public mood of the population reliably.
