Prosecutor General's Office: 1 killed, 6 injured in Russian attack on Kherson Oblast.

Russian June 8 attack on the city of Kherson during evacuation measures has killed one civilian and wounded two more people, the Prosecutor General's Office reported[1]. Russia also hit the Kherson district, wounding four residents in one of the villages and damaging civilian infrastructure, according to the report. The information on casualties is being updated.

Evacuation efforts are ongoing in Kherson and other regional settlements affected by the June 6 Kakhovka dam demolition conducted by Russian forces. According to Kherson Oblast Military Administration, 2198 people have been evacuated[2] from the flooded settlements as of 1:45 p.m. local time. Earlier on June 8, the regional governor said 600 square kilometers[3] of Ukraine's Kherson Oblast had gone underwater, and the average water level had reached 5.61 meters.

According to Prokudin, 68% of the flooded land is on the Russian-occupied east bank of the Dnipro River, and 32% is on the Ukrainian-controlled west bank.
