Russian terrorist attack on ZNPP to be considered as nuclear weapons use

Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council, has said that the civilised world will consider Russia's probable terrorist attack on the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) as "the use of nuclear weapons against the civilian population". Source: Danilov on the air of Radio Svoboda (Liberty) Quote: The very fact that these terrorists carry out such a terrorist attack on a nuclear facility will be considered by all civilised countries to be the use of nuclear weapons against the civilian population.

Therefore, we will watch very carefully, if God forbid it happens, which reaction would the world have following these events." Details: Danilov added that the world's reaction to the blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) "did not correspond to the scale of the terrorist attack that Ukraine suffered".

According to him, Ukraine is currently doing "everything possible and impossible" to prevent this terrorist attack from happening, but the nuclear plant is "in the hands of terrorists" now. The secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council suggested that some of the Western partners are now explaining to Russia that they should not do it, because the aftermath will be "absolutely catastrophic for the Russian Federation".

Commenting on the likelihood of a Russian terrorist attack at the ZNPP, he noted that it is difficult to say now, because "these people are not predictable, they act outside the boundaries of any norms and rules of the world community".

Danilov recalled that a "big training" was conducted and there was "one more preparation" after the information about the probable terrorist attack in Ukraine. "We have our protocols, our plans, in what way we should act. Now a big exercise took place, another preparation was conducted, in the case of this Russian attack occurring."
