Details: According to investigators, earlier this year, a resident of the city of Pavlohrad, who worked for Ukrainian Railways, was recruited by a Russian military intelligence officer. The Security Service of Ukraine reports that the traitor collected information about railway transportation routes and places of unloading foreign military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is involved in counter-offensive operations of Ukrainian troops. In addition, he recorded the coordinates of railway stations and bridges, across which heavy weapons and ammunition of the Defense Forces are being relocated.

Russia needed intelligence information to conduct air strikes on the region. The Russians also considered the "option of sabotage" at the facilities of Ukrainian Railways with the participation of a recruited agent. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, Russia planned to disrupt the supply of fuel, weapons and ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the southeastern front.
