Ukrainian forces advance by 500m-1km on Berdiansk front overnight – Ukrainian General Staff

Ukraine's Armed Forces have been making advances in the offensive on the Berdiansk front, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports. Source: Andrii Kovalov, spokesman for the Ukrainian General Staff, during a live broadcast from the Ukrainian state-run news agency Military Media Centre; Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar on Telegram Quote from Kovalov: "As part of the offensive, the troops of the strike group of the Ukrainian Defence Forces advanced by 500 metres to 1 kilometre on the Berdiansk front over the past 24 hours."

Details: He added that the area of the territory taken under control was up to 3 square kilometres.

Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar also said that Ukrainian troops had advanced 250 metres on the Bakhmut front in the area of the Berkhove Reservoir and 200 metres on the Toretsk front in the past 24 hours. Quote from Maliar: "Fighting is ongoing in and around the areas [of the following settlements]: Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, near Makarivka on the Orykhiv front; Marinka; Yahidne on the Bakhmut sector; Vesele on the Lyman front."

Details: The deputy minister noted that Russian forces are doing everything to hold on to their captured positions, actively using attack and army aircraft as well as intense artillery fire.

Ukrainian troops are facing dense minefields combined with anti-tank trenches during the offensive.
