Ukrainian military showcase destruction of targets with the help of the Bradley IFV

19 June, 2023 Ukrainian M2A2 Bradley IFV 47th Brigade in the Zaporizhzhia direction, June 2023 The Ukrainian military has published footage of the use of M2A2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles transferred to the United States in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The videos were released on social media.

The transfer of Bradley from the United States was made public in early January 2023. Transferred in the amount of 100 vehicles, IFVs entered service with 47th Mechanized Brigade and have been actively used on the front line since June. The operators of one of the vehicles demonstrated the use of a TOW-2 anti-tank missile system on enemy targets, which were identified as tanks.

The IFV's gunner filmed the view from the vehicle night sight which had captured the target, the launch of missiles and their hits. Another video by the military also showcased the use of a Bushmaster M242 25mm automatic gun on an unknown Russian combat vehicle and its subsequent destruction. At 27 seconds into the video, the enemy target detonates, presumably as a result of the destruction of ammunition.

It should be noted that the image from the night sight is somewhat distorted due to the peculiarities of recording video on camera and in reality is much better.

Bradley also has a TOW ATGM launcher. The additional armament consists of the M240C machine gun. The armored hull can accommodate up to 6 soldiers in the squad compartment and 3 crew members.

It provides protection against shelling in the front projection with 25mm armor-piercing sub-caliber ammunition and Soviet 30mm guns. In addition, the IFV is able to withstand shelling from all sides with a KPVT 14.5 mm machine gun. Having been modernized under the ODS program, Bradley received a new combat information control system that enabled exchange of information with reconnaissance satellites and all units with similar devices.

The IFV also received a TACNAV tactical navigation system with a GPS receiver and a DCS digital orientation system (Digital Compass Systems).

The vehicle's protection has been improved by an electro-optical active protection system against ATGM.
