In Crimea, explosions reported at an ammunition depot

Eyewitnesses report the explosions and publish videos on social media. The attack on the ammunition depot was confirmed by the Russian occupation so-called authorities. Gauleiter of Crimea Sergey Aksenov, said that on the morning of Monday, July 24, Ukrainian drones attacked Russian military facilities on the territory of the occupied peninsula.

He said that 11 drones were allegedly shot down in the sky over the peninsula by air defense forces, as well as jammed by electronic warfare. Gauleiter also added that there was a hit in the ammunition depot in the Dzhankoi district.

Explosions were heard near the village of Vesele, 15 kilometers from Dzhankoi.

There is a military airfield, which is not currently in operation. The Russian invaders equipped a warehouse for storing ammunition at the airfield. Traffic on the railway in the Dzhankoi district and the Dzhankoi-Simferopol highway was suspended. In addition, the occupiers decided to evacuate the population from nearby villages within a radius of 5 km to temporary accommodation.

As previously reported, on Saturday, July 22, in the Krasnohvardiiske district of the occupied Crimea, an oil depot ignited near the railway in the town of Oktiabrske. The Russian ammunition depot, located on the territory of the inactive Oktiabrske air base, also exploded. The head of the occupation authorities of Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, said that the detonation occurred as a result of a drone attack.

This is not the first case of damage to ammunition storage facilities on the territory of the occupied peninsula.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that at about 4 am, July 19, a Russian ammunition depot detonated at the Starokrymsky training ground near the village of Krinichki in the Kirov region of Crimea.
