This was reported on Monday by the SSU press service. The head of the network was detained during an attempt to transfer information to the aggressor state. The Security Service counterintelligence conducted a multi-stage special operation to expose the Russian agent network in Kherson.

As a result of the actions, it was possible to detain a resident of the Russian special services, who kept in touch with informants in the region. There were about ten.

According to the case file, all of them were local residents who supported the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the SSU stated. The recruited agents collected and transmitted to the Russian Federation information about the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the frontline regions of the Kherson region. "In particular, the informants tried to identify possible combat positions of Grad multiple rocket launchers and foreign-made ?777 howitzers.

They had to transfer all the collected data to the resident, and he had to send it to his curator from the FSB," Ukrainian Security Service emphasized. The detained FSB agent was reportedly a local resident who came to the attention of the Russian special services in the early 2000s. Then he often came to the Russian Federation for personal matters.

A representative of the Russian special services came to him and offered cooperation. "For the "persuasiveness" of its intentions, the Russian special service even issued its resident the so-called "pass" for unhindered movement through the territory of the aggressor state," the SSU said.
