Office of the President of Ukraine does not think Hungary's position will pose issues for Ukraine during NATO summit

The Office of the President of Ukraine anticipates that Hungary's position will not hinder NATO's decisions regarding Ukraine during the upcoming Vilnius summit. Quote: "I don't think so. Despite the public rhetoric [of the Hungarian government], I don't think so. I'd like to hope that this won't happen and that this country won't be a hindrance to consensus," Zhovkva explained.

Background: Ukraine hopes to receive clear indications regarding its prospect of becoming a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization during the NATO summit in Vilnius this month.

NATO is likely to approve the creation of the Ukraine-NATO Council as a new form of cooperation between Ukraine and the Alliance.

The Council's first meeting is expected to take place on 12 July.
