Outcome of NATO Summit in Vilnius “will not disappoint Ukrainians” – Lithuanian President

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has stated that the NATO summit in Vilnius will achieve commitments to Ukraine that will not disappoint it. Source: Lithuanian news agency LRT, as reported by European Pravda Details: The Lithuanian president voiced hope that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would "definitely get, perhaps less than he expects in his maximum plans, but he will definitely get a lot" after he arrives in Vilnius.

He noted that he would not be so categorical as to say that Ukraine would not receive an invitation to join NATO after the war "in one form or another" because this is exactly what is being discussed in the Alliance.

"I have a feeling that we will find wording that will not disappoint Ukrainians and will state more than we are used to saying," Nauseda added. He believes that success will mean that the summit participants will say more than they did at the Bucharest summit in 2008. President noted that individual states would come to Vilnius with their additional support packages.

"There are definitely not one, not two, not even four states that would like a broader statement, and right now, there is a dialogue between such states and more cautious states, and I hope it will end in a mutually acceptable way," Nauseda concluded.
