Reuters reported on this. The British government stated on Tuesday that it will provide Ukraine with more than 70 combat and logistic vehicles and a 50 million pound (£64.7 million) support package for equipment repair. The package should also include thousands of ammunition rounds for Challenger 2 tanks.

Along with the support package, Britain, through NATO, will also launch a project to establish a medical rehabilitation center for Ukrainian soldiers. Funding for the medical rehabilitation center will be allocated through NATO's Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine.

Combat vehicles

The statement of the British government does not specify the model and type of equipment planned for transfer.

The announcement was limited to the abstract phrase "combat and logistic vehicles". Given the context and the lack of high-profile statements, it can be assumed that this will be another traditional military aid package, which will include vehicles that have been previously transferred to Ukraine. The list of "combat vehicles" supplied by Great Britain since the beginning of the Russian invasion includes such models as the Mastiff, HUSKY, Wolfhound, and FV430 Bulldog.

Presumably, it is one of the above vehicles that will be supplied to Ukraine in the new military aid package. Although it is possible that several types will be transferred.

Ammunition

As previously reported, Britain agreed to transfer armor-piercing rounds containing depleted uranium to Ukraine. The rounds fit the rifled gun of the Challenger 2 tank.

"Alongside our granting of a squadron of Challenger 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine, we will be providing ammunition, including armor-piercing rounds which contain depleted uranium.

Such rounds are highly effective in defeating modern tanks and armored vehicles," Annabel Goldie stated.
