Quote from Klitschko: "It is symbolic that this event took place on the Independence Day of Ukraine. The capital of France demonstrates the support of the French people for the struggle of Ukrainians for common European values - freedom, equality and the rule of law." Background:

  • In June 2023, the French authorities decided to support Ukraine's membership in NATO, following the example of Poland and the Baltic States, abandoning its more cautious stance to increase pressure on Russia.
  • On 23 June, France provided Ukraine with equipment to create 3D models of war crimes sites, which will help prepare evidence in cases, including those related to the destruction of civilian infrastructure.
