Ukrainian specialists have developed a new drone for aerial reconnaissance - SpyGun. Now Ukrainian intelligence officers are testing it in the area of hostilities. This was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

The SpyGun drone, with a wingspan of 1.65 meters, is designed for reconnaissance, but if necessary, it can also be used to adjust artillery fire. After preliminary tests, the new Ukrainian UAV was handed over to Ukrainian intelligence officers for testing at the front.

The drone was created by Ukrainian engineers and designers at the initiative of entrepreneur and volunteer Yurii Holyk, and Serhii Stakhovsky, who is a tennis player and at the same time a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The system consists of two UAVs and a ground control station. Thanks to a modern communication and control system with a high level of protection against electronic jamming, the SpyGun drone is capable of operating at a range of up to 50 km.

This Ukrainian-made UAV is relatively inexpensive and fast to produce. It has a simple body design and translucent wings. The high aerodynamic performance of the SpyGun drone allows it to make long flights.

Sometimes the UAV can glide along the route with the engine turned off, saving battery power.

Claimed characteristics of the SpyGun UAV:

  • flight time without landing - 120-160 minutes.
  • maximum flight altitude - 1500 m.
  • operational altitude - 500-600 m.
  • speed - 90 km/h.
  • cameras - online directed and GoPro.

During aerial reconnaissance, the UAV records photos and videos for on-board storage.
