Ukrainian Defense Forces defeat Russian T-90M convoy

14 August, 2023 Abandoned Russian T-90M tanks near Andriyivka, Donetsk region, August 2023. Defense forces stopped an offensive convoy of Russian T-90M tanks and infantry fighting vehicles in the Donetsk region. The video was shared on social media.

Ukrainian troops defeated a convoy of Russian armored vehicles that tried to seize Ukrainian positions near Andriyivka. The video portrays three abandoned T-90M tanks in an unknown condition, as well as two unidentified vehicles that can be presumed to be a vehicle on the MT-LBU chassis and an undesignated IFV. Judging by the location of the vehicles in the convoy and their appearance, it can be assumed that they were likely stopped and abandoned by their crews due to numerous explosions on anti-tank mines. The equipment and assaulting units supposedly belonged to the 3rd Army Corps of the Russian Armed Forces.

A few days earlier, on August 12, T-90M tanks of this particular formation fired at Ukrainian positions in the area. The location of the attack on the Russian armored vehicle column was geolocated here, near the village of Andriyivka, Donetsk region. Ukrainian troops are currently conducting active offensives in the area of this settlement, which is located on the flank of the occupied Bakhmut.

A few weeks earlier, the Ukrainian defense forces knocked out the Russian invaders from their positions near the village of Andriyivka. The offensive of the Russian forces was probably aimed at recapturing the lost territories. Fighting in the area of this settlement has a serious impact on the de-occupation by Ukrainian forces of the positions around Klishchiyivka, a few kilometers to the north.

The latter, in turn, play an important role in the liberation of Bakhmut.

As previously reported, at the end of July, the Ukrainian military neutralized a group of Russian invaders in the village of Klishchiyivka near Bakhmut.

Having fallen into an ambush, under the fire of automatic grenade launchers and mortars, the Russians lost three BMD-2s and about a platoon of infantry.
