Ukrainian military leadership holds talks with U.S. and UK counterparts

Ukrainian military commanders met with their British and American counterparts. Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said that the course of the counteroffensive of Ukrainian military was one of the topics of discussion. According to Zaluzhny, he, along with Chief of the General Staff General Serhiy Shaptala, Deputy Commander-in-Chief General Mykhailo Zabrodskyi, Navy Commander Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa, and First Deputy Defense Minister General Oleksandr Pavliuk, met with American and British partners in an expanded format.
The meeting was also attended by Kyrylo Budanov, the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The Ukrainian generals held talks with Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) Christopher Cavoli, Chief of the Defense Staff Admiral Tony Radakin and representatives of partner delegations.

The key topic of the talks was military cooperation. Zaluzhnyi noted that he spoke about the situation on the frontlines and the course of the Armed Forces' offensive and defensive actions. "I explained to them the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the near future and in the longer term.
We discussed possible actions of the enemy," the Commander-in-Chief clarified. He also noted that he had informed the partners about the key needs of the Ukrainian military, including ammunition, weapons, air defense, electronic warfare, and remote demining systems. "Another extremely important issue is drones.
Countering enemy drones and building up our own capabilities. We have agreed with our partners to focus on this area," Zaluzhnyi emphasized.

The General added that during the meeting they discussed the possibilities of strengthening the protection of Ukrainian critical infrastructure facilities.
