UK provided Ukraine with 1,500 mine detectors

The UK has provided Ukraine with more than 1,500 mine detectors for the clearance and disposal of explosive objects. This was reported in the press release of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom. The defense ministry of the United Kingdom noted that the provision of equipment and exercises by the Ukrainian military were provided in order to improve Ukraine's ability to neutralize mines.

"This has included over 1,500 sets of both vehicle-mounted and 'on-the person' mine clearing and explosive ordnance disposal equipment, including necessary training," read the press release. Soldiers use metal detectors and kits to extract mines. They are also taught how to adapt the equipment available on the front line.

In addition, sappers of the Corps of Royal Engineers conducted training for the Ukrainian military on the disposal of mines, ammunition and other explosive devices used on the territory of Ukraine. This detailed and specialized package trains Ukrainian soldiers to recognize ammunition, master disposal methods and search procedures to counteract improvised explosive devices, mines, booby traps and bump devices. The training includes briefing on the preparation of a threat report, planning of a mine disposal operation, as well as practical training in cleaning large areas of land, a system of trenches, bunkers and civil buildings.

Soldiers use metal detectors and mine recovery kits, train the adaptation of existing equipment on the front lines.

The Ukrainian military also received training on equipment provided by the UK, in particular on VALLON detectors, the report said.

Recall also the Come Back Alive Foundation provided 15 engineer and sapper teams of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with means for demining.

Demining kits were received by sappers from four units of the Command of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
