Freedom of Russia Legion conducted an operation on the territory of the Russian Federation

The Freedom of Russia Legion conducted a military operation in the Belgorod region of Russia. The Legion's press service reported the news on its social media pages.

On September 28, the assault groups of the 1st and 2nd companies of the 1st mechanized battalion conducted a tactical operation in the Belgorod region. According to representatives of the military formation, during the operation, a firefight broke out between the soldiers of the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian military, which resulted in the death of five invaders, and thirteen more were wounded. It was stated that the combat mission was completed.

All soldiers involved in the raid returned unharmed. The published footage shows that the operation began at dusk in the dark with the use of night vision devices.

An aerial reconnaissance unit that coordinated the work of the soldiers on the ground accompanied the group of soldiers at all times. During the battle, the soldiers used the support of a unit of FPV drones, the interface of which can be seen in the first frames of the video, as well as the crew of a 120-mm mortar unit. Due to the coordinates indicated in the video, it is known that the sabotage and assault group entered the territory of the aggressor country through the border from the Sumy region.

The battle itself took place east of the village of Starosilske in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.

It is reported that the Russian military had to retreat as a result of the battle. In turn, the Legion's soldiers returned after completing their tasks.

The Freedom of Russia Legion is a unit within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which, according to official statements, is formed by volunteers from Russian citizens and former prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
