FSB agent installs cameras in the Zaporizhzhia region to spy on the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The SSU press service reported about this on Monday, October 30. The agent's task was to collect intelligence data on the routes of movement, the number of vehicles and soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sent to the front line. One of the first tasks of the offender was to collect information about the SSU regional office in the Zaporizhzhia region.
This was how he came to the attention of the internal security and counterintelligence services of the Ukrainian special service, which began to document the illegal activities of the Russian agent.

The Security Service of Ukraine established that the traitor had installed his own hidden webcams along the main roads of the region to track the convoys of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is emphasized that the SSU officers timely detected and deactivated hidden video devices, preventing the possibility of the intelligence data being transmitted to the Russian invaders.

"In the area of special attention of the Russian Federation were columns of heavy armored vehicles and artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are involved in counteroffensive operations on the southern front. The agent installed webcams in the locations indicated to him by his FSB supervisor. To disguise the video devices, he fixed them on the pillars of external road lighting," the SSU said.
Once the webcams were installed, they were supposed to provide continuous online broadcasting of traffic with remote access for FSB personnel. For the execution of the hostile task, the Russian special service transferred a monetary reward of UAH 30,000 to the bank account of its agent. The SSU documented the criminal actions of the offender step by step and detained him during a technical check of one of the webcams.
The Russian agent turned out to be a local resident. At the end of September this year, he remotely contacted the administrator of a pro-Kremlin Telegram channel and offered his assistance in the war against Ukraine.
"The traitor received from the aggressor not only the tasks of reconnaissance and explosive activities, but also step-by-step instructions for their implementation," the SSU said.
The SSU investigators served the offender a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 15, Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted high treason committed under martial law), he faces life imprisonment.
He is currently in custody.
