Footage from the video of the 3rd Assault Brigade Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost about 300 thousand soldiers and mercenaries. A senior NATO official stated this on the sidelines of a meeting of NATO defense ministers.

"The Russians are suffering significant losses, and we know it. We know for sure that the Russians are suffering significantly more losses than the Ukrainians. So we believe that we are approaching the figure of about 300,000 Russian soldiers and mercenaries who have died since the invasion in February 2022," he said.

According to the official, most of the Russians' losses occurred after December 2022. He noted that Russia lost 1,800 officers in the war. "Including 11 generals, as well as mid- and junior-level officers, there were devastating losses.

Casualties seem to have somewhat decreased since April after the Russians abandoned their winter offensive," the senior official said. He emphasized that Ukrainian military losses are much lower than Russian ones. "And I know that Allies continue training Ukrainian troops so that they can go into combat as soon as possible and try to address those concerns," the NATO official added.

In turn, the Ukrainian General Staff reports that Russia had lost about 283,900 servicemen. "As of the morning of October 11, Russia's total combat losses since the beginning of the full-scale offensive against Ukraine on February 24 amount to about 283,900 servicemen," the statement said.
