TheDeadDistrict columnist reported this on his Twitter page. The civilian "Plastun" received the "SN" (Special Purpose - ed.) modernization and is positioned as a light tracked armored all-terrain vehicle for evacuating the wounded. It can also be used as a reconnaissance vehicle or a self-propelled 82mm mortar.

The SN model has a combined Br3 and Br4 class protection, which should protect the crew against 9x19 mm to 7.62x39 mm bullets.

The armored vehicle has a pickup or cabrio body layout without a rigid roof, the absence of which can negatively affect the survivability of the vehicle and crew under the influence of drones and debris. A special easily removable frame and a derivative waterproof tent are installed to protect the crew from the weather.

This version of the all-terrain vehicle was chosen by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which set the following tasks for the manufacturer: fast entry and exit, stretcher loading, mortar operation, and deployment of telescopic towers with surveillance devices. Plastun-SN has eight seats, and the version of the medical evacuation vehicle hosts four people and has two seats for stretchers.

Due to the modernization, the weight of the vehicle increased by 3,800 kilograms, the maximum speed of the Plastun-SN is 50 kilometers per hour, and the recommended speed is 30 km/h.

The Ukrainian military also uses tracked all-terrain vehicles. In June, Militarnyi reported on the transfer of the batch of Bandvagn 206 from Germany. The Armed Forces had already used these all-terrain vehicles even prior to the official announcement of the transfer.

In addition, the use of domestic Bohun all-terrain vehicles by the Ukrainian military was reported in May.

Unlike the basic civilian vehicle, the presented modifications are designed to ensure the transportation of personnel.
