Kharkiv Defense Strengthened by Leopard 1A5 Tanks

The military praises the German armor and notes that in battle, these tanks are capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 5 kilometers. This distance of combat operation of the tank allows it to fire from a safe distance from the enemy. The military also said that the Russian invaders had already suffered losses from these Leopard 1A5 fires.

By the end of this year, Germany is preparing for Ukraine to supply more than 100 Leopard 1 tanks.

The repaired Leopard 1 tanks in the A5 version have been transferred to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Previously it was reported that Germany and Denmark would finance the transfer of 110 Leopard 1 tanks to Ukraine. Denmark was supposed to send 80 Leopard 1 tanks to the Ukrainian military.

The tanks were bought out by a private German company, FFG, after they were finally removed from the Danish Army's service in 2005. The Danish and German sides allocated EUR3 million for the repair and modernization of these tanks.

In early February, the German defense company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann began preparing Leopard 1A5 tanks for delivery to Ukraine.
