The photos were published on the page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The weapons were spotted at the disposal of the soldiers of the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade during the tests. This mortar is manufactured by a private company and is designed to fire 30mm and 40mm grenades from automatic grenade launchers.

The General Staff notes that the mortars designed to fire two types of high-explosive fragmentation munitions are receiving special attention.

The soldiers set the angle at which the shot is fired, and the grenade, according to its characteristics, should fall into a given square. The predicted stability of hits in the selected area is considered a success.

The new mortar showed satisfactory firing results. "The test was successful. We are handing over the weapons to the defenders without any delays," the soldier with the callsign "Mechanic" shared.

It is worth noting that information about these mortars was first reported online in early 2023.

The way the shot is fired is as follows: the grenade is placed in a special pipe with a cutout at the bottom, it is installed in the mortar barrel and then lowered to ignite the grenade capsule. In February 2022, Militarnyi reported that Poland had transferred light 60-mm mortars and 40-mm hand grenade launchers to Ukraine.

The manufacturer offers LMP-2017 in two calibers: Polish 59.4mm and NATO 60.7mm, according to STANAG 4425.2.

They are intended to be hand-aimed.
