Nobel Prize ceremony in Sweden accompanied by Ukrainian composer
The music of Ukrainian composer Valentyn Sylvestrov was performed during the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm on 10 December 2023. The video from the award ceremony shows this. The event was opened with the composition Evening Serenade from the cycle Silent Music.
The tune was played after a speech by Astrid Soderbergh Widding, a Swedish film critic and chairman of the Nobel Foundation's board of directors

86-year-old Valentyn Sylvestrov is one of the most famous contemporary Ukrainian composers.
He is People's Artist of Ukraine, Shevchenko Prize winner, Honorary Doctor of Kyiv-Mohyla and Ostroh Academies, holding the Order of Merit of the 3rd Class, and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise.
