Russians Integrate Volnorez EW System into Unmanned Evacuation Platform

The Russians began using a new unmanned ground evacuation and logistics platform. Defense Blog reports on this. The platform was developed and assembled by the 87th Rifle Regiment and used in operations south of Avdiivka to bring supplies and evacuate the wounded.

The platform is equipped with the new Russian Volnorez electronic warfare system, which protects it from drone attacks. It is reported that the footage shows an attempt to hit the platform with an FPV drone, which was unable to complete the task due to the countermeasures of the Volnorez EW system.

Militarnyi has published several articles about this EW system.

For the first time, this active jamming station was presented to the public in August 2023 at the Russian Army-2023 forum. The Russians do not disclose the technical characteristics of their product. According to Serhii Flash, a Ukrainian telecom specialist, the system is designed directly to protect the vehicle from FPV drone attacks.

Visually, the Russian platform resembles the Estonian THeMIS drone from Milrem Robotics, whose products are actively used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are already operating 15 THeMIS UGVs, which are designed for mining, demining, reconnaissance, and evacuation of people.

It is not known whether the Russians launched this platform into small or serial production, its technical characteristics and cost also remain unknown.

Recall that in November, Militarnyi reported on a new Russian remote weapon station with a PKT 7.62mm machine gun.
