UK Intelligence says Russians pushing forward, yet calls breakthrough towards Kurakhove in Donetsk Oblast unlikely

UK Defence Intelligence has stated in its intelligence review that a significant Russian breakthrough towards the town of Kurakhove (Donetsk Oblast) is highly unlikely despite the Russian army's gradual advances in the area of the town of Marinka. Details: The UK MoD noted the ongoing heavy fighting to control the war-torn Marinka and its outskirts. "Russia has likely further reduced the small pockets of Ukrainian-controlled territory remaining within the town boundary," the review stressed.

UK intelligence says one of Russia's operational goals in the area is to control the 00510 and H15 roads in order to push further towards Kurakhove.
