Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umierov has proposed that Turkiye join the Maritime Coalition to strengthen security in the Black Sea. Details: This was stated by the Ukrainian Minister of Defence during a meeting with Levent Bilgen, the new Turkish ambassador to Ukraine. The parties are also reported to have discussed potential cooperation in defence production. Ambassador Bilgen stressed that Turkiye's full support for Ukraine will continue.

Note: The efforts of the Maritime Capability Coalition, which was launched by the UK and Norway, are aimed at ending Russia's interference in freedom of navigation, particularly to ensure the functioning of the "grain corridor".
