The Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania reported about this on social media. The ministry said it was strengthening logistical support for NATO allies. From the beginning of 2024, the US forces can repair their heavy military equipment at the Lithuanian army's state-of-the-art workshop near the village of Rukla.
The first Abrams tanks have already arrived and are being repaired by both American and Lithuanian military specialists.

The joint venture provides logistical support for combat vehicles, primarily made in Germany, both for the Lithuanian Armed Forces and for armored vehicles of other NATO countries deployed in Baltic States.
Each of two partners owns 50% of the shares in the joint venture. The modern maintenance and logistics center covers an area of about 12,000 square meters. The location was chosen because of the proximity of Lithuania's largest military base near the town of Rukla, where NATO's Battlegroup Lithuania is stationed, and because of direct access to the railroad.
