This was reported by the SSU's official website. The suspect's main task was to explore the sites of toxic substance storage, including warehouses and storage facilities with pesticides. He also conducted reconnaissance of the places of temporary deployment and movement of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to geo-referenced intelligence, the Russians planned to strike using missiles and Shahed-type kamikaze drones. According to the SSU, the enemy planned to provoke an environmental disaster and destabilize the internal situation in the region.

The attacker got a job as a taxi driver to collect intelligence, and while transporting passengers, he took photos and videos of the required places. According to the investigation, a student of Odessa University was involved in the situation. In the fall of 2023, an FSS employee, whose identity has already been identified by the SSU cyber security officers, remotely contacted him.

During the exchange of messages, the FSS representative offered the young man to cooperate with them, to which he agreed. He received a salary for performing the "work," and to maintain contact with the FSS officer, he used a popular messenger app. For secrecy, the traitor used different SIM cards and cell phones.

During the search, the SSU seized all the gadgets he used in his intelligence and subversive activities. The offender now faces life imprisonment. The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
