The US military support budget for Ukraine has run out
The United States has spent all the funds allocated for military assistance to Ukraine. John Kirby, Coordinator of the National Security Council at the White House, announced this. "The President signed the last security assistance package which we have the authority to fund, and that's it.
We need additional funding to help Ukraine," Kirby reported. This is a military aid tranche that includes ammunition for air defense, missile systems and artillery, and anti-tank weapons and other equipment.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden continues negotiations to find a compromise with Congress to approve a separate US national security package worth over £106 billion, of which £61 billion is earmarked for military support for Ukraine. The White House has called on Congress to vote immediately for military aid to Ukraine amid massive missile attacks by Russia in recent days. "In the last 48 to 72 hours, you all have seen that Russia continues to launch drone and missile attacks, including ballistic missile attacks, on -- on targets inside Ukraine, to include not only military targets in Ukraine, but civilian targets in Ukraine, to continue to try to weaponise winter, to go after their infrastructure.
Which is why it's so important that the supplemental funding request that the President put forward gets passed," Kirby stated during the briefing. On January 2, Ukraine experienced one of Russia's most massive missile attacks in the entirety of the full-scale war. The invaders used a record number of Kinzhal ballistic missiles, along with dozens of cruise missiles and drones to attack.
The Russians used 16 Tu-95MS strategic bombers and MiG-31K aircraft carrying Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles to attack the capital.
Most of the missiles hit the Ukrainian capital.
