The army of the aggressor state was replenished with modernized T-80BVM tanks. This was reported by Russian propaganda media. Upgraded Russian main battle tanks received additional protection of the turret and hull sides.
Recently, the Omsk Transport Engineering Plant (Omsktransmash), part of the UVZ concern (Uralvagonzavod), handed over to the military of the aggressor state a batch of modernized T-80BVM tanks.

The exact number of T-80BVM tanks transferred is not reported. It is noted that the upgraded tanks were strengthened by additional reactive armor modules, which "significantly increases the safety of the crew."

In addition, the tanks were equipped with an add-on quick-detachable Krysha (Roof - ed.) ERA module, which was first demonstrated in 2023. It must protect enemy tanks from kamikaze drones and other threats. Russians also expect that this module will give additional protection against anti-tank missiles, in particular FGM-148 Javelin, which strike armored vehicles in the upper part.
The upgraded tanks received a Sosna-U multi-channel gunner`s sight, which has optical, thermal imaging channels, as well as a missile control channel. However, it is worth noting that these sights were installed on tanks for the first time in a long time. Because in previous batches, T-80BVM went with much simpler sights.
However, it is worth noting that on the tanks that were transferred in February this year, the Volnorez electronic warfare system (EW), which was previously announced for installation on modernized Russian T-80BVM mod.
2023, is not noticed.

The EW system has several omnidirectional antennas that are supposedly capable of jamming with up to 30 Watts at frequencies of 0.3-6 GHz. The system should block all communication frequencies on which drones operate on the battlefield, but it is not known how the communication systems of the tank itself should work in such conditions. The Russian propaganda then stated that this system was allegedly able to effectively jam communications of drones (FPV) at a distance of up to 1000 meters, thereby leveling their threat.

T-80BVM is a variant of the T-80BV tank modernization, which, according to the manufacturer, has better firepower, protection and mobility.
Russian T-80BVMs have repeatedly become trophies of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during hostilities after a full-scale invasion.
