This information is reported by the publication Info Defensa, which refers to the published list of the Secretary of State of Spain. This will bring the total number of Leopard 2 tanks delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to 30. Currently, the Leopard 2 tanks are classified by the Spanish Ministry of Defense as inferior combat vehicles and are deployed at the Casetas storage base.

Before being shipped to Ukraine, the tanks will undergo appropriate repairs at Santa Barbara Sistemas. It should be noted that Spain began receiving Leopard 2 tanks under a lease contract in 1995 for training purposes. In total, the country leased 108 Leopard 2A4 tanks.

However, in 1998, Spain agreed to purchase the leased number of tanks and simultaneously reduce the number of new Leopard 2E(A6) tanks. Approximately 60 tanks remain at the storage base in Zaragoza, of which 10 have already been transferred to Ukraine and another 20 are awaiting transfer.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Spain has been actively supporting Ukraine with weapons and financial packages for the purchase of weapons.

As Militarnyi previously reported, Spain is preparing to transfer a new batch of M113 armored personnel carriers to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Two armored vehicles were reportedly converted into ambulances, and the rest will be used for their intended purpose.

The Spanish Ministry of Defense informs that air defense equipment and equipment for naval operations have already been shipped to Ukraine.
