The Danish Ministry of Defense stated that the funds will be used, among other things, to purchase ammunition, drones, and manufacture missile parts. According to the report, the decision provides for the allocation of DKK 200 million for investments in the Ukrainian defense industry. In addition, funds were allocated to develop a significant maritime capability, drones, and the production of missile parts.

In total, the new package includes about DKK 2.2 billion (EUR295 million). "Investments in the Ukrainian defense industry for the purchase and transfer of weapons and ammunition, drones, and the production of missile parts in cooperation with the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, as well as significant maritime assistance. These are the main elements of the 17th aid package, on which the government today held consultations with the Danish Foreign Affairs Committee," the statement said.

The 17th aid package is aimed at expanding defense-industrial cooperation with Ukraine, based on the growing need to strengthen and increase Ukrainian production of artillery shells, missiles, and drones. Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen noted that in March, he visited several Ukrainian defense companies in Kyiv, and it became clear that there is great potential for future cooperation. Like previous aid packages, this one involves a number of different agreements with NATO members on both procurement and donations from defense companies in NATO member countries.

Some of the equipment will be supplied by Danish companies.

"Ukraine's struggle for freedom is also our struggle," the Danish officials said. Previously, Denmark committed to providing Ukraine with 19 F-16 fighter jets.

The Danish Ministry of Defense stated that Ukraine would receive the first Danish F-16 fighter jets this summer.
