HIMARS hits Russian air defense radar

The Division-TIVAZ Telegram channel published the video of the shelling. According to the footage, a reconnaissance drone detected the Russian equipment. The Russian radar and combat control post of the S-300 or S-400 air defense system and other wheeled vehicles were deployed in a combat position in open terrain.

However, the image quality does not allow us to accurately identify the type of radar and other equipment. Due to the characteristic features of the equipment, it is likely that the illumination and guidance radar and the mobile control post on the truck chassis, along with other nearby vehicles, were captured. At the same time, it can be assumed that the SAM launchers themselves were scattered at a distance from each other and disguised.

The footage shows that the fire damage to the elements of the Russian SAM was carried out from the US M142 HIMARS rocket system.

The area where the Russian equipment was located was shelled with GMLRS missiles.

The video does not show the equipment getting on fire, but it must have been damaged by debris and high-explosive explosions nearby. Since the beginning of Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, S-300 and S-400 air defense systems, along with other air defense systems, have been covering the invasion forces and strategic facilities in the temporarily occupied territories. The loss or temporary disablement of such systems is significant for the Russian Federation.
