These funds will be allocated for the reconstruction of Ukraine (approximately EUR5.3 million) and support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (EUR4.3 million). The funds will go to the European Peace Fund, from where they will be transferred as needed, as well as increased by other countries.

It should be noted that, in addition to international support, the country is also conducting its own campaign to support Ukraine. Militarnyi reported that the UK, together with Latvia, will lead a "drone coalition" under which Ukraine will receive drones worth £250 million.

Training of the Ukrainian military under the UNIFIER UK

In January 2024, the country handed over a new military aid package for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The aid package included howitzers, ammunition, helicopters, drones, communication devices, equipment, and anti-tank weapons.

In addition, Latvia is one of the countries that trains the Ukrainian military.

Latvia trains Ukrainians in the following areas: basic general military training, officer-sergeant leadership training, sapper training, rifleman training, and others.

In 2023, the volume of training with the participation of Latvia more than quadrupled.
