The Dutch Defense Ministry said that they are transferring this equipment at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
YPR infantry fighting vehicles are equipped with RCWS remote weapon stations. They allow the crew to control the weapon from inside the vehicle. YPRs will be able to provide battlefield fire support more effectively.
Remotely controlled weapons provide the shooter with additional safety.

"These types of armored vehicles are very important for Ukraine. They are maneuverable, can move troops quickly, and can be used for reconnaissance, offensive, and defensive purposes," the Dutch Ministry of Defense added. YRR will arrive in Ukraine in the nearest future.
No information is given about the exact numbers and types of weapons by the ministry. To date, the Netherlands has delivered a total of 207 YRR infantry fighting vehicles of various types. "The efforts we have made recently will pay off in the coming months.
It is extremely important that all countries continue to contribute to collective efforts," the Dutch Ministry of Defense noted.
