K-2 Battalion demonstrates trench fighting near Siversk

The soldiers of the K-2 battalion demonstrated repulsing Russian assaults and trench battles with the invaders at positions near the city of Siversk. The unit's press service released the uncensored video of the battle on its Telegram channel. The Russians are actively storming Ukrainian positions near the village of Verkhnokamianske, which is basically the "gateway" to the outskirts of the city of Siversk in the Donetsk region.

According to the soldiers, despite the constant attacks and artillery strikes that did not stop even at night, they additionally mined the approaches to their positions. On the second day of the assault, the artillery was ready to fight off another mechanized attack. The new Russian offensive started with artillery shelling at 4 a.m. and lasted until 5:30 a.m. when a convoy of equipment consisting of four armored vehicles led by two tanks advanced.

The first tank hit a mine and was almost immediately finished off by a Javelin anti-tank system. Nevertheless, the enemy armored vehicles continued to move and attempted to break through to Ukrainian positions.

The tank was the first to reach the positions and drove close to the trenches, suppressing possible contacts. MT-LB with infantry also reached the positions and immediately started advancing, hastily moving from the vehicles immediately in the trenches.

The destruction of equipment near the positions was greatly complicated by the dust and smoke raised by artillery and tank shelling. Once in the trenches, the Russians were caught between two groups of Ukrainian soldiers and were forced to engage immediately.

The invaders' platoon found itself in a difficult situation. After entry, their armored vehicles immediately retreated, and their own artillery continued to fire at the positions even after they were occupied, resulting in one of the shots hitting a cluster of infantry.

Meanwhile, the K-2 battalion began throwing grenades at their enemies and engaged FPV drones and unmanned aerial vehicles to eliminate the consequences of the "breakthrough." Meanwhile, the Russian officer in charge of the operation wasted no time in bringing in reserves while the trenches were held by the surviving Russian Armed Forces. The same MT-LBs with new troops moved into the formed "corridor," but on the way, the closing vehicle was destroyed along with everyone inside.

After crossing the field, two MT-LBs and a tank covering the landing reached the Ukrainian positions. The invaders occupied trenches located away from the previous place to expand the "corridor".

Having taken a position, the Russians started to advance further. To stop them, unmanned system operators involved Vampire heavy drone-bombers in atypical day-time operations, which resulted in the enemy group having the first killed and wounded.

Encountering dagger fire in close trenches, the Russian military stopped moving forward and retreated. At the same time, a Ukrainian 120-mm mortar started firing at them, hitting the invader infantry with one of its shots. After that, the invaders' organized offensive failed, and chaotic actions began.

Some of the Russians climbed out of the trenches and crawled back to their own.

Given that the enemies "fell," the commander of one of the Companies of the K-2 Battalion decided to assault the remnants of the enemy infantry and capture prisoners. One of the enemy clusters managed to hide in the captured dugout. To preserve the lives of their soldiers, the Ukrainian military decided to destroy the shelter using a drone and dropped a TM-62 anti-tank mine on it.

In general, according to the battle results, the Ukrainian military managed to fight off the assault and regain its position.

They destroyed several units of armored vehicles, up to two platoons of infantry, and took one prisoner.
