Latvia supplies Ukraine with communication equipment worth €100,000

As a member of the IT coalition, Latvia has provided communication equipment worth EUR100,000 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This new batch of equipment from Latvia will help establish communication in the combat zone," said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister for Digital Transformations, Digital Development and Digitalisation.

Background: 

  • Latvia has already supplied laptops within the IT coalition to upgrade supply logistics and roll out an SAP-based system.
  • The IT coalition is a special group led by Estonia and Luxembourg within the Ukraine Defence Contact Group.

    Its objective is to support Ukraine's Defence Ministry and Armed Forces in the sector of IT, communications and cybersecurity.

  • Earlier it was reported that the Netherlands would be joining the military coalition which would supply Ukraine with advanced drone technologies and strengthen its offensive capabilities in the war against Russia.
  • The member states of the coalition for the development of Ukraine's IT capabilities signed a cooperation agreement in February.
