Military journalist from FREEDOM media killed in Donetsk Oblast

Anastasiia Volkova, a military correspondent for the Ukrainian broadcaster FREEDOM, has been killed in Sloviansk (Donetsk Oblast) on 30 May. Source: FREEDOM media outlet Details: Anastasiia reportedly worked in the hottest spots of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, was very dedicated to her work and was not going to move to a safer place.

She grew up in Luhansk and dreamed of being the first Ukrainian journalist to report from the liberated city.

Anastasiia has been working as a military correspondent for Ukrainian state broadcasting channels since 2018. She was awarded the Order of Merit III class in June 2022. Anastasiia Volkova was 31 years old.

The sources of the Institute of Mass Information NGO say that Anastasiia died as a result of a car accident.
