Slovak PM assassination attempt: Fico stable but in very serious condition

The official added that more information would be officially announced during the day. An emergency meeting of Slovakia's Security Council and a government meeting will be held in Bratislava at 11:00 in connection with the attempted assassination of the prime minister.
Background: Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is reported to have been shot after a government meeting on Wednesday. Fico was shot on 15 May after a government meeting in the city of Handlova. Media reports indicate that Juraj Cintula, 71, was the one who carried out the assassination attempt.
