Volodymyr Uhlinsky, the ship's captain, shared this in an interview with TSN.Tyzhden. According to him, the future flagship of the Ukrainian Navy is being built ahead of schedule. Equipment and weapons are currently being installed on it.
"The Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvette is very modern, and the capabilities of this corvette far exceed those of the Hetman Sahaidachny frigate," Uhlinsky says. The new corvette does not yet have an anti-ship missile system. The captain explains this: "The corvette will be able to hit targets at a distance between 180 and 240 kilometers."

Such different data on the range of destruction indicate that it has not yet been decided exactly what kind of anti-ship missiles the Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvette will be armed with. It was previously reported that the Neptune, Harpoon, NSM, or Atmaca anti-ship missiles are being considered as anti-ship weapons.
On May 29, the Hetman Ivan Mazepa corvette left the RMK Marine shipyard for its first sea trials. The published photos show that the ship is already armed with a 76-millimeter Super Rapid naval artillery system manufactured by the Italian company OTO Melara.

The ship is equipped with a Thales Sting EO MK2 fire control radar, an Aselsan satellite communications system, an ARES-2N electronic warfare system, and a Mk 36 SRBOC decoy launching system. The Hetman Ivan Mazepa Corvette was launched in October 2022.
The laying ceremony was held in September 2021, and the hull was assembled at the end of December of the same year.
