Russians show motorcycles protected by “grills”

Russian propaganda Telegram channel published photos of the equipment. The published photos show motorcycles with side trailers (sidecars), the internal volume of which has been expanded, and they are not equipped with seats. Given this, it can be assumed that such motorcycles are primarily intended for logistical tasks.

Motorcycles and sidecars are protected by an anti-drone "grill" from the front, rear, top, and right projections. The left projection is not closed, most likely for faster and more convenient loading and unloading of cargo. It is worth noting that the average maximum load of such motorcycles varies within 150 kilograms.

This design significantly reduces this figure, which leads to a load on the chassis and affects the motorcycle's stability and maneuverability. In addition, such a design will have little effect on the likelihood of the rider's survival, as the rider will suffer fragmentation injuries in the event of a crash.

Russian use of motorcycles in the fields of the Russian-Ukrainian war

Militarnyi recently reported that Russian infantry was training to storm positions using motorcycles.

The published footage showed Russian infantrymen riding cross-country motorcycles in pairs, arriving close to improvised trenches, hastening and launching an assault. In real combat conditions, the success of such an assault may depend on the speed of detection, response, and the availability of effective means of destruction at the positions of the defenders. It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Russians have conducted assault operations using highly mobile and fast equipment such as motorcycles or motorized vehicles.

In addition, such vehicles are used to deliver provisions, ammunition, and infantry to positions or as transport for mobile anti-tank and anti-aircraft units. Their speed helps reduce the time spent in the open, thus reducing the time to detect and destroy.

Despite their high speed and maneuverability, such vehicles often become easy targets for FPV drones and artillery, and due to the lack of protection, the crew's chances of survival are minimal.

Militarnyi has already reported that Russians are trying to protect their all-terrain vehicles and even motorcycles as much as possible by adding anti-drone nets, EW equipment, and smoke bombs.

However, such protection remains ineffective due to the lack of the possibility of equipping armor.
