Eight more Ukrainian children brought back from occupation

Eight Ukrainian children aged 7 to 17 years have been brought back to Ukraine-controlled territory from the occupied parts of Kherson and Donetsk oblasts.  Source: Mykola Kuleba, the Head of the Save Ukraine charity organisation  Details: One of the returned teenagers, Serhii, tried to leave the occupation twice.

At the first border, he was detained by the Russians, who threatened him with imprisonment, accused him of lying and wanted to hypnotise him with a psychic so that he would tell them the truth during interrogation.

Olena, the mother of two rescued children, one of whom is seriously ill, said that she was beaten by the Russians until she lost consciousness and then ordered not to tell anyone that she was in pain.  Taras, another rescued teenager, bought a Russian SIM card so as to stay in touch in the occupied city. As soon as he activated it, he received a message saying that the Russian military could recruit him as a contract serviceman, although he was under 18 years of age.

Myroslava, a 14-year-old who returned from the occupation, told how a Russian soldier threatened her with a gun at the border to make her undergo an interrogation.

Quote: "I was very happy when we crossed the border and finally found ourselves in Ukraine. I feel very good now. They intimidate and beat people there, but here, it's a free country," she said. 

The children and adults are now safe and have a long recovery process ahead of them.  In total, Save Ukraine has managed to rescue 405 children from Russia and the occupied territories.  Earlier, it was reported that ten Ukrainian children were brought back from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts.
