Due to the high temperature of the exhaust gasses, the grass around the helicopter began to burn. The crew abandoned the vehicle and was evacuated. By the time firefighters arrived, about 500 square meters were on fire.

The fire was quickly localized. The helicopter is currently parked in an open field, waiting for the Russian military to evacuate it and take it to the manufacturer's plant for major repairs. The enemy uses Mi-28 helicopters for air defense and interception of slow-moving drones using cannon.

One such incident was recorded by a reconnaissance drone of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, which was fleeing from a Russian Mi-28 helicopter over the temporarily occupied Crimea. The video shows a Ukrainian drone flying near Cape Tarkhankut being pursued by two attack helicopters and one Russian aircraft.

The Mi-28 fired at it with 30mm automatic cannons, but due to poor aiming accuracy, not a single shell damaged the drone.

A Russian fighter jet failed to intercept the drone, which was attempting to attack it with cannon and missile.
