Journalist Yuriy Butusov reported this on his YouTube channel. It is reported that 8 Ukrainian stormtroopers captured 16 Russian servicemen of the 9th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade. Before being deployed to the brigade, it was the 9th Separate Marine Regiment of the so-called "People's Militia" of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic".

The captured Russian lieutenant, Vladislav Akimov, said that the group's task was to cross one of the intersections in the city area, which was controlled by a Ukrainian machine gun. According to Akimov, one of the groups tried to cross the intersection, but as a result of machine gun fire, "it ended in a disastrous way."

Then a second group tried to cross the intersection, which also came under machine gun fire, but the consequences for them were less severe than for the first group. Due to the impossibility of fulfilling the task set by the Russian command, the Russians were forced to entrench themselves in a large 16-story grain elevator. The Russian command promised their soldiers help for a day and a half, but it never came.

Ukrainian troops were constantly targeting the elevator, including with heavy lift drones. The wounded commander of a Russian assault group, Vladimir Grybov, who lost his leg, recalls that the Russian command abandoned them, and that the Ukrainian soldiers helped him and saved his life.

As a result of the assault on the grain elevator, which was preceded by a tank firing at close range, Ukrainian stormtroopers approached it.

The assault group entered the building and occupied the building's lobby, after which a small arms battle with grenades ensued. The assault group was supported by an M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle. The Ukrainian stormtrooper with the call sign "Black" assured the enemy that in any case, the Russian soldiers would die either from small arms fire or under the rubble of the building.

"Black" talked to a Russian soldier, gave him water and cigarettes, and convinced him to surrender. This Russian soldier went into the elevator and tried to persuade other Russian soldiers to surrender.

Ukrainian soldiers recall being amazed at the number of Russian POWs evacuated by a Ukrainian Kozak armored vehicle under fire.

Three Russians still did not manage to surrender, two, as one of the Ukrainian stormtroopers recalls, were killed under tank fire, and one more--immediately at the entrance to the grain elevator.
