Singer Oleksandr Serdiuk killed in action

Oleksandr Serdiuk, a singer at the Berehynia Kyiv Academic Theatre of Ukrainian Folklore, has been killed at the front line. He was 41. Source: Ukraine's Ministry of Culture and Information Policy on 27 August 

Details: Serdiuk joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 29 April 2024. He fought in one of the hottest spots on the front line, was wounded, and then went back to the front.

Quote: "Our singer Oleksandr Serdiuk, an infinitely sincere and open person, has been killed during a combat mission in one of the fiercest points of the 'theatre of war'," the theatre staff wrote of their hero.  Oleksandr Serdiuk was born on 3 November 1982 in the village of Velyka Burimka, Chornobaivka district, Cherkasy Oblast.

He studied at the Hrebinka secondary school in Poltava Oblast, central Ukraine. In 2004, he graduated from the Kyiv National University of Culture and Art. He later performed at the Berehynia Theatre in Kyiv.
