Ukrainian boxer Khyzhniak defeats Brazilian Pereira and secures a medal on 2024 Olympics

However, this did not happen, and the Ukrainian advanced to the semifinals, which will take place on 4 August. It is worth noting that with this victory, Khyzhniak secured himself a medal in the 2024 Olympics, as boxing does not have a final for bronze. The 28-year-old Ukrainian athlete won silver at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
In the final, he lost to Brazilian Hebert Conceicao via a technical knockout in the third round.
In the round of 16, Khyzhniak defeated ex-Ukrainian Pylyp Akilov, representing Hungary, on a judge's decision.
