Ukrainian high jumpers Mahuchikh and Gerashchenko advance to 2024 Olympic final
Ukrainian athletes Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Iryna Gerashchenko have qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in the high jump. Source: Champion, a sports news platform within Ukrainska Pravda's holding company Details: Dnipro native Mahuchikh, 22, cleared two heights - 1.92 and 1.95 metres - on her first attempts and progressed through the qualification round with ease.
Advertisement:Gerashchenko, 29, from Kyiv, cleared heights of 1.83 and 1.88 metres on her first attempts but needed a second attempt to clear 1.92 and 1.95 metres.
With the second-best result in Group B, she advanced to the finals. This was her best result of the season. Yuliia Levchenko was unable to clear the height of 1.83 metres in three attempts and finished the qualification round without a result.
The 2024 Olympics high jump final will take place on 4 August at 20:30 Kyiv time.
